Using Microsoft Copilot to Identify Clinical and Work-Based Learning Opportunities

I used Microsoft Copilot to generate a list of healthcare and healthcare-related businesses in our county where Practical Nursing (PN) students might be able to participate in work-based learning opportunities or clinical rotations.

I asked Copilot to provide the business name, website, address, phone number, and days and hours of operation. It also identified the most likely contact person at each organization and grouped the businesses into categories such as Hospitals, Private Practices, Long-Term Care facilities, and other healthcare-related settings.

Copilot also offered to generate an outreach email or phone script that could be used when contacting potential clinical partners. Although I did not use that feature, it demonstrated how AI can support additional stages of partnership development and outreach.
